Project Lead, AI Dividend

The AI Dividend is a pilot program for people navigating AI-driven career disruption. It is the first program built specifically to learn how people experience disruption and equip them to adapt to it.

The AI Dividend provides income support, reskilling, and community resources to people from AI-exposed occupations who recently lost their job. We also conduct research on the real-world impact of AI and collaborate with researchers and policymakers on how to prepare people and society for broader disruption.

The AI Dividend is the latest program from the Fund for Guaranteed Income (F4GI), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has run more than 20 cash transfer programs nationwide.

The AI Dividend is seeking a strong operator and problem-solver with exceptional judgment and project management skills to join our founding team and help build this program from the ground up. As Project Lead, you will work directly with F4GI's Executive Director and our core team to keep the program focused, organized, and moving forward every day.

The AI Dividend is run by a small core team. Like a startup, every person wears multiple hats and is expected to play a role in different areas of the project. The person taking on this role will be a critical part of this team and has the opportunity to make a significant impact on how this program runs.

This is an opportunity to work on one of the greatest challenges we face today — getting real support to workers while shaping how we respond at scale.

The team meets in person in New York City once a week, so preference will be given to candidates located in the NYC area. We will also consider strong remote candidates anywhere in the United States; remote hires would join the team in person for occasional gatherings, roughly quarterly.

Your work will focus on:

• Operations: Making sure the program is running smoothly, finding and proposing solutions to pain points, and ensuring program systems support research and external communications work.
• Design: Connecting with impacted workers, economists, and AI experts to ensure their expertise is built into the DNA of this program.
• Strategy: Helping us stay connected to what is most important and triage between competing priorities.

The AI Dividend is being built in real time — the work involves a lot of unknowns and experimentation. You might be the right fit if you thrive as the chief triage person, problem solver, and organizational beacon of small teams.

We are looking for someone with:

• experience in a small startup or similar fast-paced environment who is comfortable working with uncertainty and ambiguity
• a demonstrated track record of making good decisions, quickly, with limited information — and pivoting when things don't work out
• a bias for action and a love of feedback — you understand the concept of "best right now"
• a strong sense of prioritization — you ask questions and gather context intuitively so you always know what is most important
