Primary Responsibilities
  • Support Legal & Business affairs team efforts towards organizational efficiency by developing, maintaining and updating contract management systems and charts, including work in progress (WIP) chart, and organizing and saving e-files and document management.
  • Assist Legal & Business Affairs team with tracking high volume of contracts and other documents and their progress.
  • Maintenance and updates to templates and boilerplate clauses in contracts.
  • Assist the Legal & Business Affairs team with drafting various letters and agreements as needed, as well as reviewing licensee documentation such as manufacturing agreements and certificates of insurance.
  • Facilitate the collection of signatures on various agreements in an organized and professional manner.
  • Conduct legal research as needed to support the Legal & Business Affairs team.
  • Other various related tasks and special projects as assigned, including general administrative support.
  • Work in the CAA Brand Management New York City office on the days and hours required for this role.
Qualifications
  • Strong academic background: college graduate 0 – 4 years’ experience at a law firm and/or in-house legal department ideally with experience in licensing and related transactions, and trademark law; if no experience, a general interest in learning about the licensing industry is vital.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail/accuracy is crucial.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, multitask in fast paced environment, take instruction but also work independently to meet demands of organization, demonstrative flexibility to support business with shifting priorities and ability to handle privileged, confidential and sensitive information in an appropriate and professional manner.
  • Upbeat temperament, dynamic personality, flexible and highly team-oriented approach to work.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat.
Location

This role will be based out of our New York office.

Compensation

The base hourly rate for this position is in the range of $23.00 - $29.00. This position also is eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus. Ultimately, wages may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
