The Opportunity
The Client Engagement Terms Analyst will assist the firm in managing and responding to evolving client‑driven requests and engagement terms, including Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCG), Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQ), Requests for Proposal (RFP), and modifications to the firm’s standard engagement letter. The analyst will review and analyze documents and data, execute projects, and provide analysis and reporting to partners and management.
Responsibilities- Assist the firm in managing and responding to evolving client‑driven requests and engagement terms (OCG, DDQ, RFP, contractual modifications).
- Work closely with firm management, partners, and department personnel to review and analyze documents and data, and execute projects related to client relationships.
- Handle the end‑to‑end client contracting process: intake of new client requests and terms, coordination of cross‑functional reviews, tracking of client contracts through execution, and ongoing internal reporting via the Business Intake System (BIS).
- Serve as a liaison with firm partners, Client Engagement Committee members, and clients; analyze documents, interpret results, summarize findings, and present to partners and management for decision making.
- Review and analyze OCG and other client engagement terms (e.g., master retention agreements) to identify issues of concern and draft internal and external responses.
- Review and analyze DDQ and RFP, manage the collection of cross‑functional information, and draft internal and external responses.
- Support the new business intake process by confirming operative OCG‑driven engagement terms through BIS, facilitating conflicts of interest clearance, and drafting firm engagement letters.
- Leverage technology resources (AI/ML, SQL‑based queries, firm dashboards) to assist in analysis of OCG and DDQ/RFP‑related assignments.
- Serve as a central point of contact regarding OCG and DDQ/RFP content; update departmental documentation and maintain database records, escalating outstanding items as needed.
- Handle multiple client analysis projects and work closely with management, partners, and stakeholders across departments to achieve firm objectives.
- Liaise with various firm personnel and administrative departments as necessary; maintain multiple touchpoints with the Client Accounting department to facilitate seamless coordination.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of three years law firm or industry experience.
- Excellent close‑reading, analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills.
- Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Aderant Expert, AI, relational databases).
- Demonstrates close attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities.
- Ability to synthesize, interpret, and summarize information in a clear, concise manner.
- Ability to use discretion, handle sensitive matters, maintain confidentiality, and exercise independent and sound judgment.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow instructions.
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work well independently and collaborate within a team.
- Flexibility to adjust hours and work the necessary hours to meet operating and business needs.
Expected base salary range: $90,000 - $100,000, with compensation determined based on skills, experience, and other job‑related factors.
