Program Aide Queens Community House | Kew Gardens, NY Position Details Status:
Full-Time Compensation: $17.00 – $18.00 per hour
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (35 hours per week), occasional evenings and weekends

Kew Gardens, Queens, NYThe Position Queens Community House (QCH) is seeking a compassionate, organized, and community-oriented Program Aide to support the daily operations of our Older Adult Center in Kew Gardens. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and wants to make a meaningful impact in the lives of older adults.
The ideal candidate enjoys interacting with people throughout the day, is comfortable managing multiple priorities, and approaches every task with a collaborative, "jump in and help" attitude.
The Kew Gardens Older Adult Center provides social, educational, recreational, health, and wellness programming that helps older adults remain active, independent, and connected to their community. The Program Aide plays an important role in creating a welcoming environment while supporting the daily operations, activities, and administrative functions of the center.

What You'll Do Administrative & Clerical Support Welcome and assist participants, visitors, and community members in person and by phone.
Create and distribute flyers and promotional materials for programs and events.
Register new participants and maintain participant records.
Support daily office operations and maintain organized files and documentation.
Data Entry & Reporting Enter daily program activity into the agency's database.
Verify and reconcile activity logs with system records.
Prepare monthly activity reports and submit required documentation.
Collaborate with the Database Manager to ensure participant and program information remains accurate and up to date.
Program Operations & Participant Engagement Assist with the setup and breakdown of meals, activities, and special events.
Support daily program operations and participant engagement.
Participate in community outreach efforts to increase awareness of center programs and services.
Assist staff with special projects and other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED.Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Tech-savvy with the ability to troubleshoot basic technology issues and learn new software.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, databases, and data entry systems.
Ability to lift and move up to 20 pounds and assist with setting up tables, chairs, and other equipment for programs and events.
Preferred Qualifications Bilingual proficiency in Spanish strongly preferred.
Previous experience working with older adults or in a social service setting.
Administrative, office support, or customer service experience.
Experience creating flyers and promotional materials.
Experience using social media to promote programs and engage community members.
