The VP/SVP/EVP, Agency Client Development is a senior individual contributor and player-coach responsible for driving net-new revenue growth by selling research services to consultancies and market research agencies. This role sits at the intersection of consultative selling, research methodology fluency, and enterprise relationship development.
The VP will be expected to personally carry and exceed a substantial new business quota while simultaneously building the processes, messaging, and market presence required to scale a high-performing team supporting consultancies and market research agencies. This is not a management hand-off role, it demands a hunter mentality, a sharp point of view on the research landscape, and the discipline to operate with rigor and velocity.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to…
New Business Development
- Proactively build and manage a robust, self-sourced pipeline; do not rely on inbound leads as a primary growth lever.
- Identify, pursue, and win opportunities across qualitative, quantitative, and hybrid research engagements including custom studies, tracker programs, segmentation, and brand equity research.
- Develop and execute territory and account strategies that prioritize high-potential verticals (e.g., CPG, retail, healthcare, financial services, media).
Consultative Selling & Research Fluency
- Diagnose client business problems and translate them into solutions, designing approaches with rigor with support from the operations team
- Confidently discuss methodology trade-offs (e.g., online qualitative vs. in-person IDI, sample source quality, survey design best practices) in client-facing conversations.
- Partner with internal research, strategy, and operations teams to craft proposals that are both compelling and executable.
- Serve as a credible peer to insights professionals
Market Presence & Brand Building
- Represent the company at key industry events (IIEX, Quirk's, The Market Research Event, ESOMAR) with a visible presence on panels, in networking, and in thought leadership.
- Cultivate a professional network of insights buyers through Linked In, industry communities, and direct outreach; become a recognized name in the research buyer community.
- Partner with marketing to develop account-based and vertical-specific campaigns that generate qualified pipeline.
Organizational Contribution
- Provide market intelligence to inform product, pricing, and positioning
- Maintain CRM hygiene with precision: accurate pipeline stages, deal values, close dates, and next steps
- Contribute to the development of sales collateral, case studies, and methodology narratives that differentiate the company in competitive evaluations.
- Collaborate with delivery and client success teams post-close to ensure a seamless handoff and set the stage for account growth.
- Support the development and training of client partners through mentorship, feedback, guidance, and, eventually, line management
Experience & Background
- 8 to 12+ years of progressive B2B sales experience, with a minimum of 5 years selling market research services or adjacent research technology solutions.
- Deep familiarity with the consultancy and MRA buyer journey, how teams evaluate, procure, and approve market research investments.
- Fluency in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies with the ability to hold substantive conversations about study design, sample, analysis approach, and deliverable formats without requiring internal backup.
- Experience navigating multi-stakeholder, multi-month enterprise sales cycles
