Position Overview
We are looking for an EDGAR (Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval) Specialist to prepare, format, and submit regulatory filings to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) via the EDGAR system.
Responsibilities- Prepare and format SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, S-1, S-3, Form D, Form 13F, and other required documents.
- Convert documents into SEC‑compliant formats: XML, XBRL, Inline XBRL (iXBRL), HTML, ASCII, PDF, and image files.
- Use EDGAR filing software and tools such as Arelle for XBRL validation.
- Manage and coordinate the filing process, ensuring all SEC deadlines are met.
- Review filings for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with SEC regulations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to EDGAR submissions.
- Stay updated on SEC regulations, EDGAR system updates, and emerging financial reporting technologies.
- Collaborate with legal, finance, and compliance teams to gather and verify filing data.
- Leverage automation tools such as Python for data extraction and validation when applicable.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience with SEC filings and the EDGAR system.
- Thorough knowledge of EDGAR conversion software such as EDGARIZER or GOFILER.
- Extensive proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and workflow software (IManage, Windows, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of financial statements, regulatory filings, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work under pressure.
Target hiring range: $91,000 – $115,000. Additional compensation may be based on performance and includes discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
Work Environment and Physical DemandsTypical indoor office environment. The role requires sitting, using hands, reaching, stooping, talking, hearing, and occasionally lifting up to 20 pounds. Reasonable accommodations are available.
