EEO Investigator, Office of the Deputy Commissioner

Position Summary:

As an EEO Investigator and Trainer, you will report directly to the Deputy Director of EEO and collaborate closely with the EEO team. In this role, you will manage all aspects of your assigned investigations, process high-volume of reasonable accommodation requests, and support the delivery of EEO-related training to agency staff. Duties will include but not be limited to:

• Develop and deliver classroom and computer-based training on EEO-related case law, statutes, regulations, and legal guidance.
• Conduct investigations into EEO discrimination complaints.
• Interview complainants, respondents, and other relevant parties involved in EEO matters.
• Prepare comprehensive investigative reports, citing relevant facts, case law, statutes, and regulations to support findings and recommendations.
• Process requests for reasonable accommodation in a timely and consistent manner.
• Receive, review, and provide guidance on reasonable accommodation requests.
• Conduct legal research on EEO-related issues as they arise.

Preferred skills include knowledge of EEO laws, regulations, and compliance standards in New York City, including the reasonable accommodation process; strong investigative, analytical, and interviewing skills; excellent written and verbal communication abilities; strong organizational and time management skills; and sound judgment and the ability to remain neutral, objective, and detail-oriented in all aspects of the work.
