About USCIB’S Corporate Responsibility and Labor Affairs Portfolio

USCIB represents members in global policy negotiations on human rights, labor and employment, responsible business conduct, socio-economic sustainability, and social policies. We serve as the official US Employer Representative to the International Labour Organization (ILO), where we represent and defend US business interests in negotiations of international labor standards and policy, and are the US private sector representative in the OECD via Business at the OECD (BIAC) on CRLA issues.

Our CRLA team works closely with the International Organization of Employers, and the role includes committee leadership IB participates extensively in negotiations of international standards that will shape national legislations, ensuring they reflect our members’ priorities and promote an enabling environment for US business to thrive.

We actively engage in the following areas:
ILO Standards, Policies, & Governance, Business and Human Rights (including as sole representative of US business in UN BHR treaty negotiations),
EU Due Diligence Regulatory Requirements
, reasonable implementation of the OECD Multinational Enterprise (MNE) Guidelines
, and AI’s labor market impact in the multilateral system

POSITION SUMMARY

USCIB seeks a strategic, entrepreneurial senior leader to drive our global advocacy on labor and employment policy, corporate responsibility, and corporate governance in close partnership with our member companies. This highly visible role calls for an independent leader who can shape strategy, navigate complex international policy environments, manage competing priorities, and serve as a trusted voice for U.S. business among senior policymakers and global stakeholders.

The successful candidate will own a broad, evolving portfolio spanning business and human rights, global industrial relations, the negotiation of labor standards, labor provisions in trade agreements, emerging due diligence and corporate reporting frameworks, and multi-stakeholder initiatives.

As practice head, you will advise senior executives from member companies on international policy developments and negotiations, and partner with them and USCIB staff to develop and advocate for business positions and solutions.
