Hybrid - 3 days per week Technology Enablement, Business Solutions Senior Associate Summary New  York Life is seeking a Senior Associate, Technology Enablement within the Business Solutions team to help modernize and streamline processes across the small business market. Business Solutions serves business owners and their employees through New York Life’s career agents, delivering employee benefits products as well as strategies to protect and grow small businesses.

This individual contributor role sits on the business side of the organization and works closely with New York Life’s technology organization. The Senior Associate helps identify where technology can most meaningfully improve how the business serves agents, business owners, and clients, and then partners across functions to shape those opportunities into well-defined initiatives.

This is a highly collaborative role where success depends on strong business understanding, structured analytical thinking, and the ability to work effectively with partners across technology, operations, vendors, and the field. The role suits a motivated professional who enjoys working at the intersection of business and technology, and who is energized by replacing legacy processes with modern, scalable approaches.

Key Responsibilities:

Discovery and Diagnosis
• Builds strong working fluency in Business Solutions’ products, operating model, customer and agent journeys, and competitive context.
• Identifies friction points, inefficiencies, and opportunities where technology-enabled change would create meaningful value for the business.
• Documents and translates business challenges into clearly framed problem statements that cross-functional partners can act on.

Initiative Shaping
• Supports the definition of technology-dependent initiatives, including scope, requirements, success metrics, and sequencing.
• Works with technology partners to validate feasibility, surface dependencies, and evaluate solution approaches such as build, buy, or integrate.
• Brings rigor and structure to opportunities before they enter formal delivery, helping ensure initiatives are well defined, properly scoped, and tied to clear business outcomes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Helps move initiatives forward by coordinating with partners across technology, operations, vendors, finance, compliance, and field stakeholders.
• Builds effective working relationships across a complex stakeholder environment and contributes to building consensus without formal authority.
• Tracks cross-organizational dependencies and escalates risks, trade-offs, and decision points to Business Solutions leadership in a timely and actionable way.

Insight and Recommendations
• Serves as a knowledgeable resource to Business Solutions leadership on the technology implications of business decisions.
• Prepares clear, well-reasoned analysis and recommendations on where to invest, where to defer, and how to sequence technology work.
• Represents Business Solutions’ technology needs in working sessions with enterprise partners and helps ensure business priorities are reflected in technology planning.
