Evercore is looking to hire a Senior Associate for its Global Mobility & Immigration team within the Human Capital Group (HCG) based in New York. Reporting to the Head of Global Mobility & Immigration, this individual will help lead the implementation and ongoing administration of the firm's domestic business travel program and serve as the internal owner of its operating model.

The role will partner closely with internal stakeholders and the firm's external tax advisor, Vialto, to translate technical tax requirements into practical processes and clearly communicate requirements and required actions to employees. The position requires strong program management and communication skills, sound judgment, attention to detail and the ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced, highly confidential environment.

Program Management

  • Lead implementation and ongoing administration of the business travel program, coordinating with Vialto and internal stakeholders to establish an effective operating model
  • Define roles, responsibilities and handoffs across key stakeholders, including ownership of data review, tax calculations, payroll actions, employee outreach and issue resolution
  • Serve as a key point of contact for employees, providing clear guidance, answering questions and resolving or escalating issues as appropriate
  • Create and maintain clear program guidelines, policies and processes to ensure the program is administered consistently
  • Identify potential risks or gaps, resolve issues as they arise, and escalation matters that require policy, tax, legal, or business input

Travel Data & Tax Operations

  • Partner with Finance, Travel, Global Technology and other data owners to maintain reliable business travel data and address gaps or issues
  • Review Vialto's tax calculations and deliverables, ensuring accurate and timely data exchange
  • Partner with Payroll to ensure tax requirements are accurately reflected in employee pay and reporting
  • Develop employee communications, guidance and training, and manage support and escalations for program
  • Maintain program policies, processes and documentation, and track key metrics for management reporting
  • Monitor tax and program requirements and identify opportunities to strengthen controls, streamline processes and improve the employee experience

Global Mobility Support

  • Provide support to the Global Mobility team on ad hoc projects, initiatives and priorities as business needs arise
  • Partner on cross-functional HCG initiatives that intersect with Global Mobility, business travel and related employee programs
  • Support the continued evolution of the domestic business travel program, including potential expansion to additional global jurisdictions and employee populations

Minimum Qualifications (required):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant professional background
  • 6+ years of experience in HR Operations, Payroll, Global Mobility, Employment Tax, HR project management or a related field, ideally within financial services or another regulated environment
  • Experience with business travel program management, employment tax, global mobility or related compliance programs, including knowledge of multi-state payroll and employee travel across jurisdictions
  • Strong project management skills with experience leading cross-functional initiatives and translating technical guidance into practical processes
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills, with sound judgment, discretion and the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Workday, ADP and/or travel, expense and reporting systems
  • Experience developing controls, reporting, metrics and documentation for compliance processes
  • Strategic and independent thinker with the ability to balance compliance, operational and employee considerations

Expected Base Salary Range: $110,

This position requires valid United States work authorization and is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
