Salary range is $62,000 to $67,000 depending on experience and training - position is eligible for year-end discretionary bonus Eligible for a sign-on bonus of $3,000 after a successful 3-month and 6-month performance evaluation.
A HUD Recertification Specialistmanages the annual and interim re-examination process for residents in HUD-assisted housing, verifying income, assets, and household composition to ensure continued eligibility and compliance with federal regulations. They handle documentation, calculate tenant rent, and maintain accurate records for programs like Section 8 and LIHTC .
Key Responsibilities- Compliance & Documentation: Review tenant files for accuracy, ensuring compliance with HUD, LIHTC, or local housing regulations.
- Income/Asset Verification: Calculate household income, assets, and expenses to determine rent, processing annual and interim recertifications.
- Resident Interaction: Notify residents of upcoming recertifications, collect necessary documentation, and answer questions regarding the process.
- Reporting & Systems: Maintain updated records, often using software like Yardi or Voyager, and generate compliance reports for management.
- High School Diploma/GED equivalency.
- Knowledge of Yardi/Voyager software is helpful.
- Experience:
Three+ years of low-income, senior, or housing-related programs - Certification: COS for HUD programs.
- Ability to accurately and consistently maintain logs and write reports.
- Property Manager Software, especially Yardi is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
