This position is eligible for telework which is currently one day per week. New hires are eligible to apply 30 days after their effective date of hire.

Job SummaryThis position is responsible for strategic direction, operational planning, governance and systems related to all procurement activities (cross-Agency) at the MTA. This position will need to improve overall performance of the Procurement function. Directly oversees MTAHQ Procurement Operations organization, responsible for Direct, Indirect and non C&D MTA procurement spend categories. Other key responsibilities include recruitment, development, and performance appraisal of staff.
Responsibilities- Leads development of the MTA’s Procurement strategy based on overall corporate strategy and business goals.
- Implements a new consolidated organization focused on a category management procurement approach that leverages data and analytics for decision making and cost reductions
- Drive a safety-first culture and ensure that safety, quality and environmental standards are fully satisfied in each procurement action
- Drives development of best practices, continuous process improvement, policies, knowledge management and standards that result in lower purchasing costs and greater efficiencies across MTA
- Defines performance expectations, savings goals for the MTAHQ Procurement organization and establishes targets of direct reports to match overall strategic objectives.
- Identifies and evaluates risk, introduces mitigation plans, monitoring procedures and routine compliance reviews.
- Responds to internal and external auditors, implementing audit recommendations when appropriate.
- Drives development of efficient procurement systems and data integrity
