Supervise overall operations at the Elmira Field Headquarters of the Department of Environmental Conservation, including staff assignment, project oversight, and work scheduling. The role involves field work including construction duties, heavy equipment operation, and chainsaw use, as well as managing administrative records and emergency response coordination. This is a permanent full-time position based in Elmira, NY.
Key qualifications:- Class B CDL at time of appointment;
Class A CDL required within 12 months - Three years experience in building maintenance, mechanical maintenance, or construction with one year in supervising and planning work
- Ability to negotiate difficult terrain and work in remote areas and adverse weather conditions
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 80 pounds
- Available for emergency response and after-hours emergencies
- Valid driver's license and subject to Federal Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act
