Position Summary

Children’s Aid (CA) After School in Action Program at CS 211 and MSTA 318, funded by OST (Out of School Time) operates Monday through Friday from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm. The program offers tutorial help for students with their homework, additional educational instruction, and opportunities to engage in art‑based activities and SEL (social‑emotional‑learning) activities. The facilitator is responsible for the supervision and care of up to 20 children in a group or club.

Duties
  • Understand and promote the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure alignment with policies and procedures.
  • Supervise and care for up to 20 children.
  • Lead by example, modeling and demonstrating characteristics for participants to learn from.
  • Engage elementary‑school‑age children in fun learning activities while providing a safe and respectful environment.
  • Collaborate with an Assistant Facilitator to guide day‑to‑day activities.
  • Deliver individual and group tutoring in reading, writing, and mathematics.
  • Develop classroom and behavioral‑management skills, implement professionally developed STEAM and SEL curriculum, and build relationships with children and their families.
  • Assist in designing, planning, and leading special projects in and out of the program.
  • Maintain punctuality, responsibility, a positive attitude, and encouragement toward children.
  • Support activities such as supervising children during supper, ensuring equipment is signed out and cleaned, attending staff meetings and trainings, and collaborating with other staff and schools.
  • Develop lesson plans, teach, supervise children, and organize games.
  • Be available September through June for the after‑school enrichment program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Salary

$17.50 – $25.00 per hour

Minimum Qualifications
  • Pursuing an Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree.
Key Competencies
  • At least one‑year experience working with children, tutoring, or teaching is highly preferred.
