Position: Newborn Care Specialist for Twin Boys
Location: Manhasset

A private family in Manhasset, NY is seeking an experienced Newborn Care Specialist for approximately 4 to 6 months. This position is designed for a knowledgeable newborn professional who can provide exceptional hands-on care while helping the family create practical routines around feeding, sleep, soothing, and day-to-day newborn needs.

The family is preparing for the arrival of twin boys and wants a highly experienced multiples specialist who can bring structure and confidence to the first several months. The household is organized and supportive, and the parents want to remain closely involved while also getting reliable rest.

  • Position: Rotational Newborn Care Specialist for Twins
  • Schedule: Seven days on and seven days off with 24-hour coverage during the working rotation
  • Duration: approximately 4 to 6 months
  • Children: newborn twin boys
  • Arrangement: Live-in while on rotation
  • Compensation: $43-$50 per hour, based on experience
About the Family

The family is preparing for the arrival of twin boys and wants a highly experienced multiples specialist who can bring structure and confidence to the first several months. The household is organized and supportive, and the parents want to remain closely involved while also getting reliable rest.

The specialist will help coordinate feeding and sleep patterns for both babies, track each newborn individually, maintain bottles and supplies, and gradually build routines that work for twins without forcing both babies into identical needs.

Responsibilities

The Newborn Care Specialist will focus on the newborn’s care and well-being while helping the family establish routines that are safe, sustainable, and appropriate for the baby’s stage of development.

  • Provide attentive, developmentally appropriate newborn care throughout the scheduled shift
  • Support feeding routines according to the family’s plan and the baby’s individual cues
  • Burp, soothe, swaddle, diaper, and settle the newborn using safe and age-appropriate techniques
  • Maintain a safe sleep environment and follow current infant safe-sleep practices
  • Track feeding, sleep, diaper changes, and other meaningful newborn information
  • Clean and sterilize bottles, pump parts, and feeding supplies used during the shift
  • Keep the nursery and newborn care areas clean, stocked, and organized
  • Manage newborn laundry and linens related to the baby’s care
  • Observe changes in the baby’s routine and communicate relevant information to the parents
  • Provide experienced guidance while respecting the family’s preferences and parenting decisions
  • Maintain individualized records for each baby while helping create compatible twin routines
  • Coordinate care efficiently when both newborns need feeding, soothing, or settling at the same time
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have substantial professional newborn experience and the confidence to provide knowledgeable care while respecting the family’s preferences and household routines.

  • Professional newborn or infant-care experience
  • Previous experience as a Newborn Care Specialist, night nanny, newborn nanny, or comparable infant-care professional
  • Strong knowledge of newborn feeding, soothing, sleep, hygiene, and safety
  • Current infant CPR and first aid certification
  • Excellent professional references
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • A calm, patient, nurturing, and dependable approach
  • Ability to work independently while following the parents’ preferences
  • Professional discretion within a private household
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Documented professional experience caring for newborn twins or multiples
  • Previous rotational, live-in, or extended-shift newborn experience is strongly preferred
