In the role of Civil/Structural Construction Inspector, we'll count on you to:- Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for buildings and facilities
- Conduct inspection of electrical, mechanical/HVAC and site civil
- Monitor, record and inspect progress on construction projects
- Coordinate field materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders and performing in-place soil compaction testing
- Receive general supervision from the Senior Inspector who reviews work while in progress
- Perform other duties as needed
- Bachelor's Degree or a comparable combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of construction inspection of major transportation/infrastructure projects for public agencies such as PANYNJ, MTA/NYCT, NJ Transit, NYCDDC, NYCSCA is required.
- Excellent Organizational and communication skills.
- PE license in New York or New Jersey.
- OSHA 30-hour training.
- ACI Concrete Special Inspection and ICC Structural Steel and Bolting certifications.
- Preference given to local candidates.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- This position typically requires successfully passing drug-screening procedures prior to being hired; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testing.
