Job Title:
Construction Estimator
Location: Calverton, NY (Onsite)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $65,000 - $95,000 (Depending on Experience)
Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Estimator responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and bid proposals for commercial and municipal construction projects. The ideal candidate has strong experience reviewing drawings, performing quantity takeoffs, and collaborating with subcontractors and vendors to develop competitive pricing.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and bid documents
- Perform quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam or similar software
- Prepare detailed cost estimates including labor, materials, and equipment
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes
- Submit RFIs and clarifications during bidding phase
- Review project scope and ensure specification compliance
- Assist in contract negotiations and pricing discussions
- Maintain organized bid documentation and cost breakdowns
- Collaborate with project management team during handoff phase
- 2-7+ years of construction estimating experience
- Proficiency in Bluebeam (required)
- Experience with estimating software (Heavy Bid preferred but not mandatory)
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of municipal or commercial construction projects preferred
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously
