Duties- Inspect work performed by construction contractors to ensure conformance with contract plans and specifications.
- Track and document work performed. Prepare Daily Reports electronically and submit by the end of the day.
- Ensure that construction submittals are approved as required by the contract, prior to allowing material on site and work to proceed with these items.
- Immediately report non‑complying work as well as individuals who fail to perform their work in a skillful, safe and workmanlike manner. Maintain a rework log.
- Maintain as‑built data info. Use as‑built data to review the contractor's as‑builts for accuracy.
- Perform Punch‑out inspections, participate in Final inspections, submit lists of deficiencies, and ensure correction of all deficiencies prior to final turnover.
- Ensure that all required close‑out items are correct, complete and in accordance with the contract prior to being submitted to the owner.
- Ensure that all applicable tests and observations required by the contract are performed and shall coordinate all on‑site testing required by this contract.
- Inform Contractor, PM, Resident Engineer and any other appropriate personnel of safety violations.
- Review and comment on the accuracy of the Construction Contractor's Payment.
- Maintain a file of construction photographs documenting progress and problem areas and include appropriate photographs in weekly progress reports.
- Experience in overseeing column base repair and Structural component repair in NYCT system.
- Experience in structural repairs to elevated structures and stations.
- Experience in overseeing track and track slab replacement.
- Experience should include rail, transit and station projects.
- Thorough knowledge of general building construction practices.
- Ability to write and speak to report on progress and outcome of technical assignments and to present.
- Ability to monitor construction projects to a successful and timely completion.
- Knowledge of safety and occupational health principles, practices, procedures, laws and regulations as they relate to engineering performance requirements.
- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years total construction inspection experience.
- ICC Certification requirement.
- NYCT Track Training requirement.
- PMG-123 Training Requirement.
- Structural inspection experience required, preferably in the NYC Metropolitan area.
- Employees assigned to driving duties ("drivers") must have a current, valid US State driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with Keville's driving policy.
- OSHA 10 certification is a condition of employment.
- Daily on‑site presence is required, with occasional evening or weekend work during critical project phases or to meet project deadlines.
