Principal – Dispute Resolution (Construction Consulting)
Location:
New York, NY. We are looking for an experienced construction disputes consultant to lead and expand our construction consulting services in the areas of delay and quantum.
- Expand construction consulting work with a focus on developing and managing new client relationships.
- Provide strategic planning to identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities and promote Exponent’s service offerings and brand.
- Generate significant revenue to build a profitable team of consultants.
- Oversee client assignments; provide claims preparation, review, and analysis; and assist clients through dispute processes including litigation.
- Prepare analyses and expert reports related to construction delay, cost, damages, lost profits, and lost productivity.
- Recruit, develop, and mentor staff in areas of construction delays and impacts, cost and damages, and construction advisory.
- Promote Exponent's service offerings by meeting with potential clients, presenting at conferences, writing thought‑leadership articles and white papers, and conducting seminars.
- B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture. Advanced degree(s) and registration desirable.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in construction claims consulting and construction industry experience.
- Significant experience in contract dispute resolution and construction claims, litigation services, construction management, and construction consulting.
- Prior experience and acceptance in formal dispute resolution forums (e.g., Court, Arbitration) as an expert in forensic schedule delay and/or cost/damage preferred.
- Proven business development and client‑management track record, and ability to attract projects to support full‑time staff.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to interact effectively with internal and external clients.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Expert witness testimonial experience required.

CompensationBase salary range: USD $ – $ per year. Total compensation may include base salary, annual bonus, and 401(k) employer contribution.
