Job Title
Site Safety Manager / Site Safety Coordinator
LocationNew York City, All Five Boroughs
DescriptionWe are looking for a DOB Licensed Site Safety Manager (SSM) to oversee safety at one of our construction sites.
Crucial Certifications- NYC DOB Site Safety Managers/Coordinator License
- 30-Hour OSHA
- 40-Hour Site Safety Course Certificate of Completion

Responsibilities- Conduct daily site safety inspections, assessments, and audits.
- Deliver site safety orientations for all on-site personnel.
- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance of all site personnel and the general public with NYC DOB Chapter 33 requirements.
- Investigate incidents and accidents and complete all required documentation in accordance with OSHA, State, and NYC DOB regulations.
- Identify hazardous conditions and recommend corrective actions, including modification, improvement, or removal of unsafe objects, processes, or equipment.
- Act as the primary liaison between clients and regulatory agencies, including OSHA and insurance carriers.
- Develop and lead project safety kick-off meetings and presentations.
- Support and promote all project safety initiatives, reinforcing the company’s Incident & Injury Free culture.
- Ensure all construction activities are properly preplanned from a safety perspective through pre-task planning and preconstruction meetings.
- Verify that all workers adhere to the approved site safety plan.
- Maintain accurate and complete safety documentation and records.
- Collaborate closely with clients and construction management teams on-site.
- Coach and mentor workers in effective hazard recognition and corrective action practices.
- Minimum of three (3) years of construction safety management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA CFR 1926 (Construction Safety & Health), NYC Department of Buildings Construction Safety requirements (Chapter 33), and FDNY Fire Code (Chapter 14).
- Working knowledge of OSHA standards and other applicable regulatory agency laws, regulations, and policies.
- Demonstrated experience in accident investigation and the identification of potential hazards and exposure risks.
- Broad knowledge of construction trades and field operations.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite and standard Windows-based applications.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
