Position OverviewWe are seeking an MEP Construction Manager to support complex infrastructure and building systems projects throughout the New York City Metropolitan Area. This is a highly field-oriented leadership role responsible for overseeing MEP coordination, project execution, owner communication, schedule performance, procurement activities, and overall field operations on technically demanding projects.
Typical projects range from $10M–$60M in value and include sophisticated mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, energy, and critical infrastructure systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical judgment, confidence in the field, and the ability to lead project teams through demanding execution environments while maintaining accountability for project outcomes.
Responsibilities- Lead day-to-day construction management activities with a strong emphasis on MEP coordination, field execution, and owner-facing communication
- Manage trade and equipment procurement activities including bid coordination, scope alignment, evaluation support, and procurement tracking
- Develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules while coordinating sequencing across multiple trades
- Identify schedule risks and proactively support issue resolution before impacts affect project milestones
- Administer contracts and project documentation including change management, submittals, RFIs, and project controls workflows
- Lead owner meetings, trade coordination meetings, and internal project meetings with strong organization and follow-through
- Oversee site supervision, field coordination, quality control, and project safety efforts
- Manage project budgets, cost tracking, and financial visibility throughout project execution
- Coordinate and support commissioning activities, turnover preparation, startup coordination, and project closeout efforts
- Work directly with owners, contractors, consultants, vendors, and internal project teams to maintain project momentum and resolve field issues
- Promote accountability, professionalism, and safe construction practices across the project team
- Support project delivery wherever needed with an ownership-driven mindset focused on successful outcomes
- 7+ years of experience overseeing construction projects in active field environments with meaningful MEP coordination responsibility
- Strong understanding of construction management processes including scheduling, budgeting, procurement, contract administration, quality control, and field execution
- Technical knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, HVAC infrastructure, plumbing systems, controls systems, and integrated MEP environments
- Experience leading owner meetings, trade coordination meetings, and communication across multiple stakeholder groups
- Proven ability to manage project schedules, field operations, subcontractor coordination, and project documentation workflows
- Experience supporting technically complex or mission-critical infrastructure projects preferred
- Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable operating in a fully onsite role supporting projects throughout New York City and the surrounding region
- OSHA certification required
- Experience using Procore or similar construction/project management platforms preferred
- Engineering degree, construction management background, PE licensure, or related technical education preferred
- Additional certifications related to construction management, project delivery, or building systems are considered a plus
