Overview
MG2, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design is currently looking for an Architectural Project Manager – Retail to join our Consumer Experiences Market team in New York, NY.
As a member of the Consumer Experiences (CX) Market, you will have the opportunity to design and deliver on fast‑moving Retail, Food & Beverage and Luxury projects that anticipate the changing needs and lifestyles of evolving users.
The new Architectural Project Manager will lead project teams through all phases of project execution, including contract management, design, documentation, permitting and construction administration. You will also manage project schedules and the financial performance of the work, build strong client relationships, and uphold MG2’s standard for design excellence while serving as the main point of contact for all project‑related communication.
Responsibilities- Manage project teams through all project phases, ensuring deliverables align with the contract, are completed on schedule and on budget, and meet MG2 standards for quality.
- Ensure required contracts are in place before beginning execution of deliverables.
- Create and maintain accurate milestone‑based project schedules and staffing workplans.
- Develop detailed Project Charters, including comprehensive QA/QC plans.
- Assist with development of project proposals and RFP responses as requested.
- Continuously monitor project financial status and complete intermediate reviews with Team Leads or Principal-in-Charge.
- Review monthly project invoicing and consultant billing.
- Produce weekly project updates documenting contract deliverables, financial updates, contracts and permitting reports; distribute updates to all stakeholders.
- Lead or direct all internal and external project team meetings.
- Participate actively in all Quality Control procedures, reviewing externally distributed project deliverables.
- Oversee all team activities during Construction Administration, including weekly reviews of RFI and Submittal logs and attendance at project OAC meetings.
- Perform detailed review of all site visit reports and punch lists prior to issuance.
- Host internal and external project debrief meetings after construction completion to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Initiate project‑close out procedures following substantial completion, finalizing in alignment with contractual obligations.
- Manage internal and external resources, ensuring consistent quality and project profitability.
- Continuously manage team performance, providing accurate and relevant feedback as needed.
- Perform monthly 1:1 check‑ins with all internal team members (People Managers Only).
- Conduct mid‑year and year‑end performance reviews (People Managers Only).
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in a professional architecture or design firm.
- Experience working on Manufacturing/Industrial project types preferred.
- Certification as a licensed professional preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams through all phases of milestone‑based project delivery.
- Basic knowledge of architectural contracts and contract execution procedures.
- Proficiency with Revit, Auto‑CAD, and MS Office.
- Demonstrated expertise with collaboration software such as Bluebeam, Miro and Teams.
- Ability to read, write and understand English for job‑related communications and instructions.
Compensation: $90,000 to $120,000 per year (depending on qualifications).
