Estimator or Sr. Estimator - Construction

Overview

We have an immediate need for an Estimator or Sr. Estimator to join the Design & Construction Team. The client for this project is the NYS Office of General Services (OGS).

• Act as liaison between contractors, field personnel, client, executive staff and contract management on issues and complex matters.
• Review of orders on contract for contract/procedural compliance.
• Manage all orders on contract for projects within the Division of Construction – Region 5.
• Estimate and negotiate orders on contract with contractors in accordance with the contract.
• Assist with the review of project claims when requested.
• Develop cost estimates for project teams.
• Position can be based at any of these upstate NY locations:
  Comstock, Dannemora, Malone, Saranac Lake, Rome, Marcy, Watertown.

• For Estimator
  :

  • Shall possess at a minimum four (4) years of experience in cost estimating, including cost preparation/review of architectural, mechanical, electrical systems/components of building construction projects, and review/negotiation of cost proposals.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field, or associate’s degree with 2 years of construction estimating experience.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with construction estimating software – e.g. Means Cost Works.

• For Sr. Estimator
  :

  • Shall possess at a minimum six (6) years of experience in cost estimating, including cost preparation/review of architectural, mechanical, electrical systems/components of building construction projects, and review/negotiation of cost proposals.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field with two (2) years of construction estimating experience, or associate’s degree with four (4) years of construction estimating experience.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with construction estimating software – e.g. Means Cost Works.
• OSHA 10 certification.
