The Estimator’s primary duty is to grow the company by achieving sales and profitability objectives for new projects and clients through comprehensive cost estimating and project awards. The Estimator will accomplish this under the general direction of the Estimating Manager. The position involves completing quantity take-offs, preparing cost estimates, organizing bid bonds, job site inspections, and communicating with sub-trades to determine the financial needs of completing a project.

Responsibilities & Duties- Support all aspects of subcontractor and supplier estimating and bidding process.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
- When necessary, refer to previous projects of similar nature for a cost comparison.
- Work on multiple company bids simultaneously and deliver in accordance with deadline objectives.
- Operate and maintain proficiency in all internal estimating systems, technologies, and software.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the scope for specific skills assigned.
- Prepare, issue, receive and review supplier and subcontractor proposals and pricing.
- Build and manage client and subcontractor relationships.
- Coordinate with the client on all changes in scope, questions, or clarifications regarding the work during the bidding process.
- Act as a resource to project management during the award/start-up phase to clarify any issues regarding what was considered in the estimate, including materials and methods of construction.
- Ensure a solid understanding of and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics.
- Conduct site inspection for tender understanding, analysis of conditions, and assessment of risk and identification of activities that may or may not be shown in tender documents.
- Attend and participate in onsite meetings with clients, owners, representatives, staff, sub‑trades, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Other onsite inspection duties as required.
- Establish a buyout plan and share it with the assigned Project Manager.
- Finalize pricing for key line items from the budget.
- Initiate buyout by issuing notices to vendors and subcontractors.
- Assemble bid files, including all development information that was utilized in the preparation of the estimates.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate contact information for suppliers, sub‑contractors, and clients.
- Deliver bids on time for tenders closing.
- Identify, retrieve, comprehend, and administer RFQ and RFP solicitations.
- Other administrative duties as required.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2–3 years of estimating construction‑related experience.
- Excellent time management skills.
