About the OpportunityWe are partnering with a well-established, full-service construction firm with nearly 30 years of experience delivering development, general contracting, and construction management services across the New York City metro area.
The company has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality residential, commercial, institutional, and infrastructure projects — including multifamily housing, mixed-use developments, landmark rehabilitations, schools, and public facilities. With deep expertise navigating NYC agencies and a strong focus on value engineering, quality control, and on-time delivery, they are consistently recognized for excellence across complex, community-driven projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager to gain hands-on exposure across the full project lifecycle, working alongside a highly experienced team of construction professionals including engineers, architects, and field leadership. The role offers clear progression into a Project Manager position.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in managing projects from design/preconstruction through closeout
- Support estimating, budgeting, and value engineering efforts
- Review subcontract agreements, bid documents, and project specifications
- Assist with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project schedules
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, consultants, and clients
- Maintain project documentation, logs, and correspondence
- Attend site visits to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with plans and schedules
- Support permitting, inspections, and coordination with NYC agencies
- Participate in project meetings and assist with overall project coordination
- Background in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving ability
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or Procore is preferred
