Senior Construction Inspector

Job Description

Savin Engineers needs a Field Engineer for a large infrastructure project. The Field Engineer will be responsible for the effective administration of the construction contract and will interact closely with the Contractor’s team.

• Provide oversight for all inspection and construction operations using written procedures, instructions, codes and standards, and coordination with the Client’s operating staff.
• Monitor conformance of Contractor’s and Subcontractor’s personnel with respect to submitted Quality Assurance and Health and Safety Plans as well as other applicable codes and standards.
• Prepare and upload daily Job progress reports using the Client’s Primavera Contract Management (PCM) software.
• Coordinate, schedule, witness and upload all necessary inspections, including those for NYC Department of Buildings.
• Review general construction shop drawings.
• Advise Savin’s Project Manager of any construction problems and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor coordination of the Construction Contractor’s activities to avoid interruption of ongoing plant operations.
• Monitor Construction Contractor’s activities to assist in review of monthly payment requisitions.
• Review the Construction Contractor’s schedule and monitor for adherence.

• Minimum 10 years experience in inspection and document control in Engineering, Construction Management or Construction Industries.
• Experience in large multidiscipline construction projects with emphasis on wastewater, HVAC and electrical projects a plus.
