20/20 provides expert engineering building solutions covering the Tri-State area for all required and applicable city, national and international code testing and inspections. Our professional services go beyond the day-to-day application of ensuring safety and building code compliance. Our technical team further enhances our industry specific needs with specialty and other out of the ordinary services.

Our state-of-the-art laboratory is meticulously operated with accuracy, precision and equipment that has the capacity to service large scale, intricate or unique projects. We partner with design professionals throughout the development, planning and construction phases of a project to facilitate their understanding, interpretation and application of code. Such collaboration results in a cohesive, well-planned and sustainable path to a successful project.

Pay Range: $50.00 – $60.00 per hour

ABOUT THE JOB:

We are seeking a full-time Professional Engineer Special Inspector for projects throughout the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan. We are an established construction and engineering inspection firm renowned for our work on high-profile projects throughout these boroughs.

Conduct Inspections:

  • Inspect construction work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and codes.
  • Perform inspections of pile installations and subgrade per Chapter 17 of the NYC building code.
  • Verify materials used in construction meet project specifications and standards.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Prepare comprehensive and detailed inspection reports.
  • Document non-compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and project progress.

Compliance and Code Adherence:

  • Stay updated on industry codes, standards, and best practices and ensure compliance with NYC building codes and regulations.
  • Provide guidance on code compliance to project teams.

Quality Assurance:

  • Monitor construction activities to ensure high-quality standards are met.
  • Identify potential issues early and suggest improvements.
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed on-site.

Time Management and Organization:

  • Manage inspection schedules for multiple projects and ensure timelines are met.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Problem-Solving:

  • Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies identified during inspections.
  • Provide innovative solutions to overcome construction challenges.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION:

  • Professional Engineering License in the State of NY.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-3 years of experience inspecting construction work in NYC, with projects varying in size and complexity.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong team collaboration and individual work capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with construction industry codes and standards.
  • Experience with inspecting pile installations and subgrade as per Chapter 17 of the NYC building code.
  • Capability to produce timely and comprehensive inspection reports.
  • Must be able to work onsite within the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and/or Manhattan (where assigned).
