Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, in-office role for an Estimator located in Medford, NY. The Estimator will be responsible for bidding plan sets exclusively for new construction and public/municipal projects, while supporting the outside estimating team with takeoffs and bid reviews. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing full architectural and structural plan sets, performing detailed quantity takeoffs, preparing competitive bids for public and GC solicitations, and collaborating with internal estimators to ensure accuracy and completeness across all active proposals.
This is a purely office-based position. There is no outside sales or road-based client development component.
- Minimum 3 years of commercial roofing estimating experience, with a focus on new construction and/or public bid projects
- Proven ability to perform takeoffs from full architectural and structural plan sets
- Familiarity with public/municipal bid processes and prevailing wage requirements
- Strong analytical skills and a high level of accuracy in cost estimating
- Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Plan Swift, or equivalent) and MS Office Suite
- Ability to manage multiple active bids simultaneously in a fast‑paced office environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to work effectively with internal teams and general contractors
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Manufacturer certifications (GAF, Carlisle, Firestone, or equivalent) a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Construction Management or related field a plus
Compensation: $75,000 – $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience
