Assistant Project Manager – Ground Up Commercial Construction

Join a growing commercial construction firm specializing in design-build, general contracting, construction management, and consulting services across sectors such as medical, municipal, retail, hospitality, and residential developments. The Assistant Project Manager will support senior leadership in managing all phases of construction projects, gaining hands-on experience with ground-up and complex commercial builds.

• Assist Project Managers in coordinating all phases of construction, from subcontractor procurement and preconstruction planning through project closeout.
• Support field teams in maintaining discipline, quality, safety, and adherence to project documents and schedules.
• Help organize and participate in weekly coordination meetings covering budgets, schedules, trade contractor updates, and compliance.
• Track project schedules, identify potential variances, and support the implementation of recovery plans.
• Process and maintain documentation including submittals, RFIs, daily reports, change orders, photos, permits, and insurance certificates.
• Assist with punch-list completion, client turnover, and end-user training as projects wrap up.

• 1–3 years of experience in commercial construction (internships or co-op experience may be considered).
• Familiarity with ground-up or large-scale construction projects.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks while supporting senior project leaders.
• Clear communication skills to interface with subcontractors, architects, engineers, and clients.
• Basic knowledge of construction documentation workflows and safety protocols.

• Exposure to commercial projects in sectors such as healthcare, multi-family, hospitality, or municipal buildings.
• Experience with project management software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar).
• Some background in project scheduling, cost tracking, and subcontractor coordination.
