HVAC Estimator

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established mechanical contractor based in Queens, NY, seeking a motivated Junior HVAC Estimator to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator with 1–3 years of experience to further develop their career with a respected contractor that delivers a diverse portfolio of commercial projects throughout New York City's five boroughs.

The ideal candidate will have a foundation in HVAC estimating and a strong interest in mechanical construction. You will work alongside experienced estimating and operations professionals, gaining exposure to both piping and sheet metal systems while contributing to competitive bid submissions.

• Assist in preparing cost estimates for commercial HVAC and mechanical projects
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents
• Perform quantity take-offs for HVAC systems, including piping and sheet metal components
• Obtain and organize subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Support the development of bid packages and pricing proposals
• Help identify scope gaps, risks, and value engineering opportunities
• Coordinate with project managers and operations teams during project handover
• Maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors

• 1–3 years of experience in HVAC estimating, mechanical construction, or a related field
• Basic understanding of HVAC systems, installation methods, and mechanical construction practices
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Familiarity with commercial construction projects preferred
• Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
