Schedule:
Standard business hours with occasional evenings, weekends, and off‑hours as required to support construction schedules, hospital operations, and critical project milestones.
Emerging Tech is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to provide onsite project management services in support of renovation, capital improvement, and infrastructure projects at the Montrose VA Medical Center in Montrose, New York.
The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for leading all phases of construction projects from planning through closeout, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) requirements, federal regulations, contract specifications, and industry standards.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing complex federal construction projects within occupied hospital or healthcare environments and possesses a proven track record of successfully delivering projects while managing budgets, schedules, contractor performance, and multidisciplinary project teams.
Key Responsibilities- Lead construction projects from planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout
- Develop, manage, and maintain project schedules, budgets, cost forecasts, and resource plans
- Monitor project performance to ensure scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives are achieved
- Oversee contractor performance and ensure compliance with contract requirements, project specifications, and quality standards
- Review and manage Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, change orders, pay applications, construction schedules, and project documentation
- Coordinate with VA leadership, architects, engineers, contractors, inspectors, and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
- Conduct site visits, progress meetings, and construction inspections to monitor quality, schedule adherence, and safety compliance
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain project objectives
- Prepare executive‑level project status reports, budget updates, financial forecasts, and cost analyses
- Support contract administration, project commissioning, turnover, and final closeout activities
- Ensure construction activities minimize disruption to patient care and hospital operations within an occupied medical facility
- Maintain complete project documentation and ensure compliance with VA standards, federal regulations, and applicable building codes
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable federal background investigation and security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of eight (8) years of construction project management experience
- Demonstrated experience managing commercial, institutional, healthcare, or federal construction projects from planning through closeout
- Experience managing project budgets, cost controls, financial reporting, project schedules, contractor performance, and contract administration
- Strong knowledge of Design‑Build and Design‑Bid‑Build project delivery methods
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and technical documentation
- Experience using Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and other construction management software
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work full‑time onsite at the Montrose VA Medical Center
