A leading heavy civil contractor is seeking an experienced Steel Superintendent to join a major transportation infrastructure project in the Northeast. This is an opportunity to play a key role on a high-profile project while working alongside one of the industry's most respected construction teams.

What You’ll Do- Lead all field operations related to structural and miscellaneous steel erection.
- Coordinate daily activities with project management, engineers, subcontractors, fabricators, and suppliers.
- Manage installation of structural steel, trusses, columns, beams, bracing, stairs, railings, embeds, and miscellaneous metals.
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and schedule.
- Monitor labor productivity, equipment utilization, and subcontractor performance.
- Conduct quality inspections and verify alignments, tolerances, bolting, welding, and overall installation accuracy.
- Develop and maintain short-term look-ahead schedules while supporting the overall project schedule.
- Identify and resolve field issues including fabrication discrepancies, design conflicts, and installation challenges.
- Maintain daily reports, production tracking, inspections, and project documentation.
- Foster a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
- 7+ years of heavy civil or structural construction experience with a strong emphasis on steel erection.
- Previous experience as a Superintendent, General Foreman, or Lead Foreman overseeing steel operations.
- Strong understanding of structural steel systems, erection sequencing, rigging, welding, and bolted connections.
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, shop drawings, fabrication details, and project specifications.
- Experience coordinating steel work alongside concrete, utilities, and other major trades.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- NCCER or other steel-related certifications are a plus.
