Project Controls Manager – Heavy Civil / Infrastructure
New York, NY | $150,000–$205,000 salary | 100% onsite | Project site + Manhattan office
About the OpportunityWe’re partnering with a major heavy civil and infrastructure construction firm hiring a Project Controls Manager for a large-scale project in Manhattan. This role is ideal for someone who has managed cost, schedule, forecasting, reporting, and performance controls on major infrastructure projects such as rail, transit, bridges, highways, utilities, public works, or water/wastewater. You’ll work closely with project leadership and field teams to keep a complex project on budget, on schedule, and properly reported.
WhatYou’ll Be Doing
- Lead project controls for heavy civil / infrastructure projects.
- Track cost, schedule, forecasting, progress, risk, and change management.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and executive-level project reports.
- Use Power BI to build dashboards and performance reports.
- Support schedule updates and critical path reviews using Primavera P6 or similar software.
- Monitor project performance and identify cost or schedule issues early.
- Work with project managers, engineers, field teams, finance, and leadership.
- Support change orders, risk tracking, earned value reporting, and project documentation.
- 7+ years of project controls, cost control, scheduling, or project performance experience.
- Background in heavy civil or infrastructure construction.
- Experience on large projects, ideally similar in size and complexity.
- Strong knowledge of cost reporting, scheduling, forecasting, change management, and progress tracking.
- Power BI experience required.
- Experience with Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software.
- Strong Excel skills and ability to manage project data.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Experience with Oracle Unifier, MS Project, e-Builder, Eco Sys, InEight, or similar tools.
- Experience with public agency projects or large capital programs.
- PMP, AACE CCP, or PSP certification.
