An established and highly respected heavy civil contractor is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Superintendent to lead structural steel erection and demolition operations on complex infrastructure and construction projects throughout New York.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a hands‑on leader who thrives in the field, enjoys managing high‑performing crews, and takes pride in delivering quality work safely, on schedule, and to the highest industry standards

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and supervise union ironworker crews performing structural steel erection and demolition.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day field operations, ensuring projects remain on schedule, within scope, and meet quality expectations.
  • Review contract drawings, shop drawings, and project specifications to ensure accurate execution.
  • Coordinate closely with structural steel fabricators to ensure timely delivery of materials and seamless project execution.
  • Maintain strict compliance with project plans, contract documents, and safety standards.
  • Identify and resolve field issues while maintaining productivity and quality.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and job site safety.
What We're Looking Fo
  • 10+ years of structural steel construction experience with increasing field leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of structural steel drawings, shop drawings, erection plans, and project specifications.
  • Knowledge of local union work rules and practice.
  • OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced construction environment.
  • A proactive problem solver who leads by example and works effectively with project teams, subcontractors, and clients.
