Job Overview
The Site Safety Technician will be responsible for implementing and monitoring safety programs and procedures at various project sites to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibilities- Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Deliver safety training and orientations to new employees and subcontractors, covering hazard recognition, emergency procedures, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of site‑specific safety plans and emergency response procedures.
- Monitor compliance with Lockout/Tagout, confined space entry, hot work, and other permit‑required activities.
- Collaborate with project management and site personnel to address safety concerns and promote a strong safety culture.
- Ensure all safety equipment is properly maintained, inspected, and readily available.
- Participate in safety meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field preferred. - 2+ years of experience in construction or industrial safety, preferably in a field‑based role.
- OSHA 30‑hour Construction certification required.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, ANSI, NFPA).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to conduct effective safety training sessions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites.
