Construction Manager/ Foreman, Site Manager
In most construction jobs, you execute someone else's plan. In this one, you own the schedule—and recover it when reality gets in the way.
2 Hour Learning is building a nationwide network of microschools that deliver a complete day of education in two hours through AI. That vision depends on fast, accurate execution in the field. Every permit holdup, every task sequenced incorrectly, every communication breakdown delays growth. This role is here to prevent those breakdowns and make construction a reliable, scalable process.
You will work on-site to drive projects forward. Managing contractors. Holding teams to schedules. Resolving sequencing conflicts before they cost time. At the same time, you will deploy AI and digital systems to eliminate repetitive tasks, increase transparency, and speed up delivery. This is active, hands-on project management. You are the one who intervenes when schedules drift and pulls them back on track.
If you have worked near construction but grown tired of poor planning, lack of accountability, or endless crisis mode, this is your opportunity to take ownership and execute properly—at scale.
What You Will Be Doing- Manage on-site construction activity by working directly with contractors to confirm proper task sequencing and adherence to timelines
- Take full ownership of project schedules, monitor key milestones, spot emerging risks, and push corrective measures when delays arise
- Leverage platforms like Procore, Asana, or MS Project to organize tasks, maintain documentation, and track progress across multiple active projects
- Facilitate permitting processes by monitoring submissions, addressing reviewer feedback, and coordinating with relevant parties to advance approvals
- Deploy AI-based tools to streamline planning, documentation, and decision workflows, cutting down on manual work and accelerating project delivery
- Observing dashboards from a distance without stepping in when schedules begin to slip
- Overseeing projects only at a conceptual level without engaging with field conditions and sequencing realities
- Depending on legacy manual methods to monitor work or stay in contact with teams
- Shying away from challenging discussions with contractors or stakeholders when timelines are threatened
- Delaying action while waiting for complete data before addressing emerging problems
Key Responsibilities
Ensure on-time completion of school construction projects by leading on-site coordination, holding teams accountable to schedules, and enhancing speed and reliability through digital tools and AI.
Basic Requirements- Hands-on construction experience (site coordination, contractor oversight, or schedule management) with the ability to walk through a particular project, your responsibilities, and how you addressed execution obstacles
- Track record of managing or coordinating project timelines, including building schedules, monitoring milestones, and enforcing due dates, with at least one instance of addressing a delay or scope change
- Skilled use of at least one digital project management platform (e.g., Procore, Asana, MS Project) and the capacity to describe its application on an actual project
- Familiarity with construction trade sequencing and the ability to recount a scenario where sequencing choices affected project timing
- Practical understanding of permitting processes (submissions, reviews, revisions, AHJ coordination) with firsthand participation in at least one cycle
- Proven application of AI tools to speed up work tasks, including a concrete example of the tool, its output, and your validation method
- Capacity and willingness to be present on-site at least 3 days per week, with roughly 60% travel throughout the United States as project demands require
- Currently located in the United States and eligible to work without requiring visa sponsorship
- Background managing multiple construction projects simultaneously
- Familiarity with fast-moving or rapidly scaling construction settings where schedules are tightly compressed
- Motivation to enhance construction workflows through automation or process refinement
