Position SummaryBuild FT is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Superintendent / Assistant
Project Manager to assist with the day-to-day management of construction projects
throughout New York City. This role provides hands‑on experience in both field operations and
project management, working directly with experienced construction professionals to help
deliver projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This position is ideal for students or recent graduates pursuing careers in construction
management, engineering, architecture, or real estate development who are eager to gain
practical experience in commercial and residential construction.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the on‑site point of contact for BuildFT’s workers, subcontractors, and clientele
- Monitor construction progress to ensure work complies with project schedules,drawings, specifications, and quality standards
- Perform daily site walks and identify safety, quality, or coordination issues.
- Coordinate deliveries, material staging, and inventory tracking.
- Maintain daily reports, site photos, and project documentation.
- Assist with scheduling subcontractors and tracking project milestones.
- Attend project meetings and prepare meeting minutes and action items.
- Assist in quantity takeoffs, estimating, and procurement of materials.
- Help maintain organized project files, permits, and closeout documentation.
- Ensure project sites remain clean, organized and compliant with company safety standards
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Strong interest in commercial construction and project management.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to read architectural and MEP drawings is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, AutoCAD, or Microsoft Project is preferred but not required.
- Valid driver's license is a plus.
- Ability to work on active construction sites and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
