A well-established specialty contractor is looking to add two Assistant Project Managers to its growing team in Queens.
The APMs will support a range of façade restoration and building envelope projects, with a strong focus on schools and public-sector projects throughout New York City.
This is a great opportunity for someone with existing construction experience to develop their career within the façade and building envelope industry. The company is also open to early-career candidates with the right attitude, energy and willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers with the day-to-day management of façade and building envelope projects
- Help coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, field teams and clients
- Assist with RFIs, submittals, change orders and project documentation
- Review drawings, specifications and construction documents
- Track project schedules, materials and deliveries
- Assist with project meetings and progress reporting
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation
- Support project closeout and punch-list activities
- Communicate with field teams to ensure projects remain on schedule
- Learn the technical and commercial aspects of façade restoration and building envelope construction
Requirements
- 0–3+ years of commercial construction experience
- Construction, engineering or project coordination experience preferred
- Experience with façade restoration, building envelope, glazing, masonry or exterior construction is a plus
- Public works or school project experience preferred
- Procore experience is a plus
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Motivated, energetic and eager to develop within the construction industry
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field is preferred but not required
