I have a Design & Build Contractor in Queens looking for an Estimator, they’re also open to Project Engineers/Project Managers from a heavy civil background who are interested in moving into Estimating
ABOUT THE COMPANYMy client is a Heavy Civils firm with a brilliant reputation within the Civil & Mechanical market. They operate as a Design & Build contractor that self performs Mechanical work. The size of the projects they work on can range anywhere in value between $40M – $100M and they’ll all be public sector projects dealing with the MTA, SCA, Port Authority, AMTRAC and NYCDOT.
ABOUTTHE ROLE
My client is looking for an Estimator to join their team due to ongoing enquiries. They’re looking for an Estimator who has the capabilities of pricing public sector projects that range in value from $40M – $100M as well as someone who has the capabilities of estimating multiple different trades. The bids you will be working on will involving subcontract packages as well as self-delivering scope of work such as mechanical.
Aboutthe role
- Document constructability concerns, questions, drawing discrepancies + chase answers and corrections.
- Request, receive, compare and level multiple bids for each project trade.
- Communicate with Operations team management to fully describe and hand off completed estimating packages.
- Help to evaluate bid opportunities.
- Attend pre-bid meetings or walk-throughs as necessary.
I am looking for someone who has at least 5 years of Estimating experience working on large public sector projects, overseeing civil works and mechanical works. Or someone who is an Assistant Project Manager/Project Manager that is looking to get in Estimating. A Bachelors in a construction related degree is preferred.
