Want to build more than a resume? Get in the field and build real projects.
A well-established heavy civil contractor is looking for a Project Engineer to join its project team and work alongside experienced Project Managers and Superintendents on major civil construction projects throughout the region.
This is an excellent opportunity for a construction engineer who wants to get out of the office, into the operation, and closer to the work — with exposure to projects involving earthwork, underground utilities, drainage, road infrastructure, concrete, and site development.
What You'll Do
- Support Project Managers and Superintendents with day-to-day project execution
- Review plans, specifications, submittals, and construction documents
- Prepare and track RFIs, RFQs/RFPs, shop drawings, purchase orders, and submittals
- Assist with quantity takeoffs, project cost tracking, and change management
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, engineers, inspectors, and field personnel
- Maintain project documentation, as-builts, schedules, and progress tracking
- Assist with procurement and material coordination
- Spend time in the field working directly with the construction team
- Help identify issues early and develop practical solutions to keep projects moving
What We’re Looking For
- 1–5 years of experience in construction engineering, project engineering, or heavy civil construction
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, or related field
- Experience with or strong interest in heavy civil, sitework, earthwork, underground utilities, drainage, roads, or infrastructure
- Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Comfortable communicating with both field and office teams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with construction/project management software is a plus
- Ability and willingness to work in the field as needed
What’s on offer
- Base salary between $80,000 - $120,000
- Vehicle allowance
- Fast Track career progression
Why This Opportunity?
This isn’t a role where you’ll spend two years buried in spreadsheets doing the same task every day.
You’ll work directly with experienced construction professionals, gain exposure to both field operations and project management, and build the technical and commercial foundation needed to progress into a Project Manager or Superintendent role.
If you’re an early-career civil/construction professional who wants to learn how major projects actually get built, this is a great place to make your next move.
