Role Overview:
We are supporting a growing Westchester County General Contractor seeking an Estimator to join their preconstruction team. Due to continued growth and an expanding pipeline of work, the company is looking to add an Estimator who can support the bidding and preconstruction efforts across a range of commercial, institutional, ground-up, and interior renovation projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to join an established contractor with a strong reputation in the market and clear opportunities for long-term progression.
Yourmain duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs, estimates, budgets, and bid packages.
- Review drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Solicit and level subcontractor pricing across multiple trades.
- Assist with budgeting and preconstruction planning.
- Support value engineering exercises and cost-saving initiatives.
- Identify scope gaps, risks, and pricing inconsistencies.
- Maintain subcontractor and supplier relationships.
- Assist with project handovers to the operations team following award.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and senior leadership.
- 3+ years of estimating experience with a General Contractor or Construction Manager.
- Experience estimating projects valued at $5M+.
- Ground-up construction experience preferred but not essential.
- Interior renovation and fit-out experience will also be considered.
- Strong understanding of subcontractor scope review and bid leveling.
- Proficiency with takeoff software, Excel, and construction documentation.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Candidates based in Westchester County or surrounding areas preferred.
- Salary: $100K - $120K DOE
