Role Overview

We are recruiting an Assistant Project Manager on behalf of an established HVAC and MEP contractor based in Manhattan.

Working as part of the project team, you will help manage the commercial and technical aspects of mechanical construction, from initial planning and design coordination through installation and final completion.

The contractor delivers specialist mechanical solutions across complex commercial environments, including major building upgrades, critical infrastructure, life science, hospitality, and high-value redevelopment projects.

This position is well suited to a mechanically experienced construction professional with 3+ years in the industry who is ready to take on a broader role within project delivery.

Your main duties will include:

Assisting with the execution of mechanical construction projects.
Maintaining project schedules, cost reports, procurement, and progress tracking.
Reviewing mechanical plans, specifications, equipment schedules, and contract documents.
Coordinating HVAC equipment, piping, ductwork, and controls.
Managing RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and technical documentation.
Supporting field coordination, equipment start-up, testing, and commissioning.

To be successful, you will possess:

3+ years of experience in HVAC, mechanical construction, MEP, or a related discipline.
Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems and mechanical installation.
Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, equipment schedules, and contract documents.
Experience with project coordination, procurement, cost reporting, or construction administration.
