Assistant Project Manager - MUST HAVE CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE

Location: New York City, NY

Our client is a well-established General Contractor with an active pipeline of work throughout the New York City market. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join their team and support the successful delivery of projects from preconstruction through closeout.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated construction professional looking to further develop their project management experience while working alongside experienced industry leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers with the day-to-day management of construction projects
  • Support the preparation and tracking of project schedules, budgets, and reports
  • Coordinate RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
  • Maintain project records and ensure documentation is current and organized
  • Assist with subcontractor coordination and procurement activities
  • Participate in project meetings and prepare meeting minutes as required
  • Track project progress and help identify potential issues before they impact schedule or budget
  • Coordinate with field teams, consultants, clients, and subcontractors
  • Support project closeout activities and turnover documentation
  • Help ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contract requirements and company standards

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience with a General Contractor in a Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, or similar construction management role
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and project administration
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred
