Job Description About Select Construction Founded in 2016, Select Construction is a General Contracting and Construction Management company serving the NYC and New Jersey markets. We specialize in commercial interior construction and work with a strong base of recurring clients, including several Fortune 500 companies. With a growing backlog of work, we are expanding our team and seeking an Assistant Project Manager / Superintendent to join us.
Position OverviewFull-time, on-site role supporting the COO, Project Managers, and Superintendents with day-to-day construction operations. The ideal candidate has a construction background, is hands-on, motivated to learn, and ready to take on increasing responsibility while traveling between project sites as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and project team members
- Support field operations, sequencing, and the project schedule
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site
- Read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP/FP drawings
- Assist with submittals, RFIs, and project documentation
- Prepare look-ahead schedules, daily logs, and photo reports
- Help manage material deliveries, load-ins, and site logistics
- Assist with project closeout and demobilization
- Identify and communicate field issues promptly
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field; or 2+ years of relevant construction experience
- Proficiency with Procore (preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and a team player
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required
