Job Description & How to Apply Below

Growing civil and site construction contractor delivering complex commercial exterior and infrastructure projects, we are seeking a Site/Civil Superintendent to lead field operation projects in the New York market. This is a hands‑on leadership opportunity for an experienced Superintendent who understands site work, concrete, hardscape, drainage, and landscape construction and can take ownership of crews, subcontractors, schedules, quality, and day‑to‑day execution.

You’ll be the field leader responsible for keeping multiple moving pieces organized and productive while anticipating problems before they affect the project. The right person combines strong construction knowledge with accountability, communication, and the ability to consistently deliver high‑quality work while protecting schedule and profitability.

What You’ll Do as the Site Superintendent:

  • Lead day‑to‑day field operations across active construction projects
  • Coordinate company crews, subcontractors, equipment, materials, suppliers, and deliveries
  • Build and maintain short‑term schedules and look‑ahead plans that keep field activities moving
  • Manage manpower and monitor labor productivity against project needs
  • Ensure work is completed according to drawings, specifications, schedules, and quality expectations
  • Oversee site work, concrete, drainage, utilities, hardscape, landscape, and related scopes
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings
  • Coordinate closely with Project Managers on schedules, procurement, budgets, change conditions, and project priorities
  • Conduct regular field inspections focused on safety, workmanship, productivity, and overall project progress
  • Identify constructability issues, sequencing conflicts, material needs, and potential delays before they become larger problems
  • Hold crews and subcontractors accountable for productivity, workmanship, safety, and commitments
  • Communicate professionally with Project Managers, clients, general contractors, architects, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, progress photos, manpower information, and field documentation
  • Participate in project and coordination meetings as needed
  • Enforce company safety standards and applicable OSHA requirements
  • Help resolve unexpected field conditions while protecting project schedule and budget
  • Drive punch‑list completion, closeout activities, and successful project turnover
  • Take ownership of field results rather than waiting for problems to be escalated or solved by others

Must‑Haves as the Site Superintendent:

  • 5+ years of construction Superintendent or comparable field‑leadership experience
  • Strong experience in site work, concrete, civil construction, hardscape, landscape construction, or closely related scopes
  • Ability to independently manage field operations, crews, and subcontractors
  • Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and field coordination
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience developing and working from project schedules and look‑ahead plans
  • Strong understanding of labor productivity and manpower planning
  • Ability to coordinate equipment, materials, deliveries, and subcontracted work
  • Strong leadership skills with the confidence to hold crews and subcontractors accountable
  • Ability to identify field problems early and develop practical solutions
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Clear, professional communication with both field personnel and project stakeholders
  • Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and construction technology for field reporting and communication
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • 40‑hour Site Safety Training (SST)…
