This team specializes in construction execution, estimating, preconstruction, and technical project delivery for mission-critical facilities within healthcare, institutional, commercial, industrial, and municipal environments.

Position OverviewWe are seeking an MEP Estimator to support complex infrastructure and building systems projects throughout the New York City Metropolitan Area. This role will be responsible for developing accurate estimates across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, energy, and critical infrastructure scopes while supporting procurement, bid evaluation, cost planning, and overall preconstruction activities.
Typical projects range from $10M–$60M in value and include sophisticated mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, energy, and critical infrastructure systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical judgment, an understanding of MEP systems and construction costs, and the ability to analyze drawings, specifications, scopes, and subcontractor proposals to develop accurate and competitive project estimates.
Responsibilities- Lead day-to-day MEP estimating activities across complex infrastructure and building systems projects
- Develop detailed cost estimates for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, and associated infrastructure scopes
- Perform quantity takeoffs and analyze drawings, specifications, equipment schedules, and other construction documents
- Manage trade and equipment procurement activities including bid coordination, scope alignment, evaluation support, and procurement tracking
- Solicit, review, level, and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals to ensure complete scope coverage
- Identify scope gaps, cost risks, value-engineering opportunities, and potential project impacts throughout the estimating process
- Develop conceptual, schematic, design-development, and construction-document estimates as projects progress
- Support project budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, and financial visibility
- Maintain historical cost data, pricing information, and estimating documentation to improve future project accuracy
- Coordinate with owners, contractors, consultants, vendors, engineers, and internal project teams to clarify scope and resolve estimating questions
- Support change-order pricing, cost analysis, procurement planning, and project controls workflows
- Participate in project handoffs from estimating/preconstruction into construction and project execution
- Support project delivery wherever needed with an ownership-driven mindset focused on successful outcomes
- 7+ years of experience in construction estimating, MEP estimating, preconstruction, or related project delivery with meaningful MEP responsibility
- Strong understanding of construction estimating processes including quantity takeoffs, budgeting, procurement, bid leveling, cost analysis, scope review, and change-order pricing
