A well-established general contracting firm based in New York City is seeking an experienced Site Safety Manager / Coordinator to join our team. This position will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating site safety activities, enforcing safety policies and procedures, maintaining compliance with applicable regulations, and promoting a safe working environment across construction operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and coordinate all site safety efforts and initiatives.
  • Enforce company and project-specific safety policies, procedures, and requirements.
  • Conduct safety orientations for all personnel working on the project.
  • Perform daily site walkthroughs to identify potential hazards and ensure safety compliance.
  • Make recommendations regarding the modification, improvement, or removal of equipment, facilities, or machinery that may pose a safety or health risk.
  • Address safety violations and take appropriate corrective or disciplinary action when procedures are not followed.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and complete all required reports and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records, logs, and related documentation.
  • Communicate safety hazards and potential risks to project managers, supervisors, and employees.
  • Ensure personnel are properly informed of hazards associated with toxic fumes, dangerous chemicals, hazardous substances, and other workplace risks.
  • Coordinate with project management, field personnel, subcontractors, and workers to promote a strong safety culture.
  • Monitor compliance with NYC Department of Buildings, OSHA, and other applicable safety requirements.
  • Assist with the implementation and continuous improvement of project safety programs and procedures.
Required Skills &

Qualifications:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including:
    Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of an team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and address potential safety hazards.
  • Prior safety leadership and construction site safety experience required.
Education & Experience:
  • Current NYC Site Safety Manager License required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Site Safety experience.
  • 30-Hour OSHA certification required.
  • SST Card - 62 Hours required.
  • Construction industry safety experience strongly preferred.

Pay Range:$140,000 - $200,000 (Commensurate with Experience)
