Job Summary

The Senior Telecommunications Project Specialist supports the planning, coordination, field execution, and documentation of telecommunications, network infrastructure, and capital construction projects. This role serves as a liaison between engineering, construction, contractors, and operations teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with technical specifications. The position combines project coordination, field inspections, construction support, contractor oversight, budgeting assistance, and technical documentation, with approximately 50% of the work performed in the field and 50% in an office environment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Coordinate telecommunications, communications, and network infrastructure projects from planning through construction and closeout.
  • Schedule and conduct site surveys of telecommunications rooms, facilities, and infrastructure locations.
  • Coordinate site access, work activities, permits, and right-of-way requirements.
  • Provide field support during active construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Support project budgeting, cost tracking, and engineering force account activities.
  • Assist with the preparation and coordination of Requests for Proposals (RFPs), bid packages, and contract documentation.
  • Participate in design reviews, construction meetings, and project coordination meetings.
  • Support telecommunications system design and infrastructure implementation activities.
  • Conduct pre-construction, progress, punch-list, and final inspections.
  • Prepare daily field reports, inspection reports, punch lists, project updates, and construction documentation.
  • Maintain accurate project records using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Coordinate activities with engineering teams, construction managers, contractors, operations personnel, and other project stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress and assist in resolving field issues to support successful project delivery.
  • Perform additional project coordination and construction support duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting or coordinating telecommunications, engineering, construction, infrastructure, or capital projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Data Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Strong knowledge of telecommunications systems, communications networks, structured cabling, or network infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting construction projects, contractor coordination, and field operations.
  • Experience conducting site surveys, field inspections, construction progress reviews, and punch-list activities.
  • Experience preparing project documentation, reports, schedules, and meeting records.
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Willingness to work approximately 50% in the field and 50% in an office environment.
  • Ability to work in active construction, transit, infrastructure, or industrial environments.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work as required.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Data Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field required.
