Senior Designer, Soft Wovens

Overview

Luxury brand Nili Lotan is seeking a talented Senior Designer to join her growing creative team. This role will be responsible for the design and development of the soft woven category and will work in close collaboration with the Founder and Creative Director, Nili Lotan. This role will partner closely with Product Development, Production, R&D, and other design-related divisions.

• Set the visual inspiration and concepts for the soft woven category seasonal collections and content creation.
• Ideate the initial story boards for a new season for the soft woven category including inspiration boards, color stories, treatment and embellishment directions, and trend research.
• Design soft woven products through sketches, swatches, vintage/market research, and mockups, and present to the Creative Director.
• Lead and actively participate in garment fittings across both development and production stages, partnering with the Founder and Creative Director as well as Technical and Product Development teams to ensure design intent, fit, and quality are maintained from concept through final production.
• Create mood boards for monthly photo shoots and work with the Creative Director on execution.
• Research and develop seasonal trends from initial concepts and sketches through production, working closely with product development, technical, and merchandising teams to ensure product needs are accomplished.
• Actively participate in the design and launch of new lines from inception to completion
• Involvement in visual merchandising of the showroom and stores and supporting the brand in executing its creative identity.
• Source relevant fabric and trim through trade shows, vendor appointments, and store visits aligned with seasonal direction.
• Conduct ongoing research for collection and marketing/communications content, including art exhibitions, vintage stores, fabric libraries, and museums.
• Travel as necessary for design inspiration, development, and factory visits, both domestically and internationally.

• Must have 5 + years of experience in design for advanced contemporary and/or luxury brands, with a focus on soft wovens.
• Demonstrated expertise and knowledge in high-quality garment construction, design concepts, practices, and procedures specific to soft wovens.
• Sharp eye for detail and a strong passion for art, vintage, and creative discovery.
• Extremely creative and aligned with the Nili Lotan design aesthetic.
• Strong sense of design and technical finishing that is sophisticated, clean, and modern
• Proficient with computer programs including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, luxury fabrics, silhouettes, finishing, embellishments, and trim.
• Portfolio submission is required and must demonstrate relevant experience in soft wovens and luxury or advanced contemporary design.

This position has a $120,000 - $130,000 base salary range based on experience and qualifications for the role.
