FOX Weather is seeking an Associate Producer to join the Strike Team in NY. As an Associate Producer on the Strike Team, you are part of the go-to Special Projects team and severe breaking weather news first line of defense. You will pitch stories, compile research, coordinate video and graphic elements, and work hands-on with our on-air meteorologists. You will be involved with contributing to our social media presence, as well as sourcing the best user-generated content.
The Associate Producer needs strong live and post-production skills to produce informative and compelling content, and you thrive in a fast-paced environment.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Live and breathe breaking weather news in a high pressure live control room environment while staying cool, calm, and collected.
- Pitch stories daily, with topics ranging from the most important breaking weather news to features on weather-related stories of interest.
- Help produce segments for FOX Weather programming.
- Find the best sound bites, video and graphics to build the most informative and compelling segments.
- Write banners, cut video and, on rare occasions, book guests all while quickly responding to breaking weather news.
- Quickly identify strong user-generated content from multiple sources, ensuring the best elements are incorporated into FOX Weather coverage.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of news or news-related production experience
- Strong Premiere Pro edit skills to cut promos, sizzle reels, packages, short & long-form content
- Flexible schedule, with availability for weekends, late nights, and overnights on short notice
- Strong interest in weather; prior weather experience is a plus
- Broadcast weather display system experience is a plus
- Previous experience working in a live control room
- Experience writing and producing segments
- Ability to meet quick deadlines and react to breaking news
- Social media savviness
- Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with team members.
- Excellent writing skills required

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $67,.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
